Christmas Crack is a deliciously rich and absolutely fun recipe to make. The saltine crackers create an excellent base for this recipe.

There are only four layers: a saltine cracker base, then toffee, then chocolate, then M&M’s. Let’s get into it……

You will need:

  • Saltine crackers
  • Butter
  • Brown Sugar
  • Semi- Sweets
  • M&M’s
  • Foil
  • Parchment paper

Steps to make this recipe:
  • First, preheat the oven to 300 degrees.
  • Line a half sheet baking sheet with foil, followed by parchment paper.
  • Then line your parchment paper with the saltine crackers. You may need to cut some of the crackers in half to fill the entire cookie sheet.
  • In a saucepan, heat to medium heat and add the butter.

  • Once the butter is melted, whisk in the brown sugar.
  • Continue to whisk frequently until the mixture thicks, about 2-3 minutes. Once the mixture has thickened, remove it from the heat.
  • Pour the mixture over the crackers spreading evenly as possible.

  • Place the cookie sheet in the oven for approximately 5 minutes or until the mixture begins to harden.
  • Once removed from the oven, evenly spread the semi-sweets over the crackers.
  • Place the cookie sheet back into the oven for approximately two or three minutes or until they begin to melt.
  • Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and spread the chocolate evenly over the crackers.

  • Allow the chocolate to cool for approximately five minutes, then evenly spread the M&M’s over the chocolate.
  • Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to continue to allow the chocolate to cool and harden.
  • Remove from the refrigerator and serve!
