Green Chile Taco Bowls are a Mexican-America dish.
The beef is seasoned with taco seasoning and green chili’s, topped with shredded cheese,
lettuce, tomato and a few sprigs of cilantro.

Green Chile Taco Bowls
Mexican food is another one of my favorites! Well, in Texas, it’s more like Tex-Mex! When I made these bowls, I started to just make taco’s, but I just wanted something different.
So naturally, I went to the store and ended up in the dairy aisle where I found these Azteca Taco Bowls also called salad shells.
They looked like fun so I said why not give it a try! Once I tried them I was hooked! They are so tasty and only take about 10 minutes to cook.
They were so easy to make…
All you have to do is remove the shells from the fridge and allow them to rest on the counter for about 10-15 minutes. The kit comes with four oven-safe shells to form the bowls.
All you have to do is place the shell over the mold (instructions are noted on the back of the package). Place them on a cookie sheet and bake them for about ten minutes until they are browned.
We can be creatures of habit, but like I said before I just wanted something different. The green chile’s really made a difference. It was so good that we had to share this recipe with you all!
To prepare the meat, season it with a little seasoned salt, garlic salt and black pepper. Even though you will add the taco seasoning once the meat is brown, you still want to season it while it’s cooking.
Once the meat is brown, drain any residual oil and add the taco seasoning and water according to the page instructions. Add the green chili’s and simmer for a few minutes before serving.
Serve with your desired amount of taco’s and enjoy!
You may also like:
- 3 lbs ground beef
- 1-2 packages of McCormick taco seasoning
- 1/2 tsp of seasoned salt
- 1/2 tsp of garlic salt
- 1/8 tsp of black pepper
- 1/2 c of shredded cheese
- 1 (4 oz.) can of green chiles
- 2 packages of Azteca Taco Bowls
- 2 c of shredded lettuce
- 1 c of diced tomato
- Brown ground beef and drain.
- Return to pan and season with taco seasoning and water (follow the package instructions)
- Add green chile's to the pan.
- Simmer for approximately 5 minutes on low heat.
- Prepare taco bowls according to package instructions.
- Place desired amount of beef, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato, cilantro and sour cream into each taco bowl and serve!
